Model Anok Yai‘s career trajectory just received a major boost via Italian luxury label Prada, which tapped Yai for its spring 2018 campaign introducing of a collection of heritage-inspired black nylon bags.
Sudanese-born student Anok Yai experienced a fairy tale introduction to the world of modeling when she was photographed in November 2017 at Howard University’s homecoming event in Washington D.C. by photographer Steven Hall, who shared the image along with several others from the event on his Instagram feed.
Yai’s image went viral, which led to a series of model contract offers. Yai eventually chose to sign with Next Models.
The Prada campaign was shot by Willy Vanderperre and also includes models Gisèle Fox, Kris Grikaite, Imari Karanja, Line Kjaergaard, Fran Summers and Alyssa Traore.
Prada has not yet announced pricing or drop dates for the black nylon collection (which we love!).
