Ever transparent, Virgil Abloh brings in fans and followers on his first day at Louis Vuitton where he was announced as the head creative of menswear on March 26, 2018.
Documenting the day on Instagram stories, the camera follows Abloh as he takes the mirrored LV elevator to his office, sets up his desk, looks through designs and discusses his goals for the label. Notably, his space includes a red, wall-to-wall Louis Vuitton x Supreme carpet.
“The biggest goal with a like a first collection in any scenario is to sort of start so that people can sort of understand the new vocabulary, who we are as this new team,” says Abloh in his first meeting.
Later Abloh asks, “What times does everybody eat lunch?”
On design themes, he states, “I think The problem we have now in 2018 is everyone owns every type of garment already. What’s our signature twist in terms of things you already have in your closet as to why you would buy it again.”
