New York-based artist James Merry known for his collaborations with fellow Icelander Bjork has created a series of sport brand logos, whose hard sleek lines have been transformed by embroidered designs featuring moss, flowers and mushrooms. Merry was inspired to create the work, according to I.D., thanks to a longer than usual stay in New York, “I was really missing Iceland and being in the countryside, so I guess it was some kind of silent protest of mine—to take something that was super urban and machine-made and barren and fertilize it.” Images via I.D.
