New York entrepreneur and rapper Princess Nokia has blessed the people with a brand new episode of “Smart Girl Club,” a podcast she has been doing intermittently for just over three years.
Nokia began the episode by discussing the prior year, detailing some of many activities and projects she was a part of. She said her goal for the year was to improve her work ethic, an idea that was inspired in part by Beyoncé’s self-titled 2014 album, which made her realize “life aint a mother-fucking game.”
She went on to detail the making of “Tomboy” and also her EP, 1992, released in September, describing 2016 as a good year, one in which she often was able to feel at peace with herself. At the same time, she acknowledged the world was in a terrible place and it caused her sadness though she advised listeners to focus on making things better in the new year.
The episode includes spoken word by Nokia, who lays out the concept of urban feminism.
