Los Angeles-based designer Melody Ehsani recently did her first speaking engagement with Baha’i Faith, a spiritual organization whose central teaching is the oneness of humanity and whose focus is the elimination of prejudice and the equality of women and men.
In the presentation, Ehsani started off by speaking about attending college and realizing through taking on internships that she had no interest in becoming a lawyer, a conclusion that was packed with strife because it was her family’s expectation she would obtain a law agree.
Ehsani explained how she reached out to god to help her find her path and discovered meditation as a way to access untapped power. In the talk, Ehsani then touched on the importance of love and how doing what you love will lead you down the right path. “Love is the only way you can gain memory of who you are,” explained Ehsani, who ended the talk by saying, “It is our absolute responsibility to figure out who we are and why we’re here. And each one of us contains a special remedy to all the world’s ills if we should choose to step up to that.”
