Italian label GCDS and Teyana Taylor have announced plans for a “Harlem Made” merch capsule paying tribute to Taylor and the neighborhood that raised her. Offerings include black and white hoodies, t-shirts and bodysuits screen printed with acid green graphics.
One of the hoodies is a photoscreen image of Taylor in a blonde bob wig strutting GCDS’ fall 2018 runway, one of several New York presentations Taylor walked.
Recalling the runway moment, GCDS label head Giuliano Calza stated, “It was an outstanding moment; New York is an energetic city and so is Teyana. When we planned to do the collection together, she was recording and we thought it was fun to create her tour merchandise in advance.”
The Harlem shout out also syncs up nicely with Taylor’s recently-opened Junie Bee Nails, located in Harlem.
The collection will launch at a party hosted by VFiles on April 6, 2018, followed by the opening of a pop-up store at VFiles headquarters at 12 Mercer Street. Offerings will be available at VFiles from April 7th through April 21st and also on gcds.com.
Pricing ranges from $20 for socks up to $200 for hoodies.
