Puma has enlisted ALIFE to add some New York flavor to the brand’s famed Clyde silhouette. Offered in a navy and green suede colorway, the shoe features a rubber toe cap, ALIFE branding on a red tag on the heel counter and NEW YORK NEW YORK written on the shoes tongue using a gold foil.
The New York-rooted ALIFE creates a nice bridge to New York Knicks great Walt Frazier, for whom the shoe was designed. Frazier’s Puma Clyde made its debut in 1973, the same year the Knicks won its second championship, a feat the organization hasn’t repeated since.
Priced at $100, both colorways of the Puma x ALIFE Clyde will drop at the ALIFE store (158 Rivington Street in Manhattan) and alife.com on October 18, 2018. The launch will see a global drop on October 26th.
