New York-based Cha Cha Matcha, which specializes in green tea, has announced plans for a collaboration with Virgil Abloh, who lent his hand on a capsule celebrating the launch of a new Hollywood, Los Angeles location.
Famed for its cheery storefront and interior, Cha Cha Matcha has three locations in New York, which is where Abloh became acquainted with the chain’s founders, Conrad Sandelman and Matthew Morton.
“The design work for the Cha Cha Matcha rebrand underscores what makes the brand unique. The guys infused a feeling that we highlighted with art direction. It was a good challenge with a great result,” said Abloh in a statement.
The palm-tree and “I love you so matcha”-adorned capsule includes a hoodie and t-shirt along with a line of compostable line of cups, napkins and drink holders. Pricing is $68 for the sweatshirt and the t-shirt is $28.
Items will launch at the Hollywood location on December 7, 2018 at 12:00 PM EST. The first 100 guests will be gifted with various items from the collaborative capsule.
The Hollywood store is open from 7:00 AM -8:00 PM Monday-Friday and 8:00 AM -7:00 PM Saturday-Sunday. It’s located at 510 North Robertson Boulevard, Los Angeles.
