In addition to the coming release of her album CTRL, it looks like SZA will also launch a corresponding merch line. The singer/songwriter provided a look at a hoodie on her Instagram account, revealing a hoodie featuring the album title, written using a lower case font reminiscent of the Google logo and colors.
Given that SZA is sure to tour in support of her album, it makes sense she would launch a merchandise line. That said, part of SZA’s appeal has been her unique sense of style, an innovative blend of over-sized, cozy separates, which often includes one of her many vintage t-shirts, as worn with a comfy pair of Classic Vans or Birkenstock sandals worn with socks. As such, it will be interesting to see if her CTRL souvenir items extend beyond the usual t-shirts and hoodies.
In mid-January, SZA released the first single from her album, “Drew Barrymore,” a song she performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Stay tuned for more details on the album release date as well as timing for her tour and merchandise line.
