There are a lot of women who’ve jumped on board the sneaker train as of late, but singer Rita Ora has long held an appreciation for the category. Not only did she work in London sneaker store Size? as a teen, she also had a three-year collaborative relationship with Adidas. As such, she makes a legit great choice for Complex’s sneaker shopping episodes.
In a visit with Complex host Joe La Puma to Stadium Goods in New York, Ora, who wore a powder blue suit with Reebok Classic kicks, said she likes solid-colored “trainers,” and described Nike Air Force 1 sneakers as her go to sneaker.
Discussing the Jordan franchise, Ora said the Retro 13 were an early-on obsession. She also recalled wearing a pair of Retro 9 sneakers for her first MTV European Music Award performance in 2013.
Ora also discussed her collaborative efforts with Adidas that started with a visit to the company’s headquarters where she was able to see the brand’s entire archive of sneakers. Among Adidas’s current offerings, Ora said Pharrell Williams‘ HU platform is her favorite.
In the end, Ora purchased five silhouettes: Nike Air Max 97, Adidas Originals HU, Jordan Retro 1, Adidas Originals by Alexander Wang “Run Clean” and Adidas Originals NMD.
In the video, Ora noted her second studio album will drop in November 2017.
