First order of business, congrats (!!) to Public School as recipients of CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund prize, as announced last night. Designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne come up from the world of street, so seeing them win so big is especially heartwarming.
Now on to the red carpet. If you like fashion this is the award show you look out for. While not entirely free of conformity, there are definitely more looks being worn that speak to fashion forward style lovers.
Our two fave looks (shown above) were wildly divergent. We love the drama of Crystal Renn’s gown and with her brunette good looks plus perfectly styled hair & makeup she really worked it in a way that might not have stood out as gorgeously on anybody else. For a more fearless, forward look, we loved fashion plate Tamara Mellon’s bold blue jumpsuit, which she accessorized to perfection.
Other big trends we enjoyed? Women’s extra-long tuxedo trousers plus head-to-toe black or white as new color statements. See lots more on the next page!
