Givenchy as designed by Riccardo Tisci tooked a decidedly softer turn with its Autumn 2014 collection with what almost felt like an ode to female form with draped fabrics and luxuriously inviting yet understated furs. In particular the fall of some of the dresses seem to mimic whether consciously or otherwise the flower paintings of Georgia O’Keefe, whose worked was viewed as an ode to women’s vagina. Famously, however, O’Keeffe claimed only to have been interested in painting flowers, not symbolism. Given Tisci’s dreamy sensibilities one has to guess he would say as much about his own lovely creations.
