From the minute the Nike Foamposite and Supreme collabo was announced, it was clear the line up for it at the store in SoHo was going to be epic.
And indeed by Wednesday afternoon (April 2, 2014) when the NYPD shut it down, all of Lafayette Street and surrounding area had been transformed by not just the gathering crowd of mostly young males queuing up for the shoes, but also those who came to gawk at them.
Nike and Supreme do it again, and in the pantheon of legendary sneaker drops this surely will be among the top three, second perhaps only to the Nike Staple Pigeon drop in 2005 that made the front page of the NY Post (image below).
As for the launch, it will go on, but now the shoes and related collaborative items will sell online only.
