We posted Chanel’s official press images yesterday (as shot by Karl Lagerfeld) and here today is a look at the runway presentation. The funny sort of ironic part of the show, which you can’t make out so well in these images, is while the collection was a tribute to traditional Middle Eastern fashion, the crowd itself was very current. As well, not sure how the audience was selected, but it wasn’t the typical crew of pedigreed and mostly white editors. Rather, the attendees appeared to mostly be incredibly attractive male and female couples, which, given the relaxed seating, gave the show the feel of an ultra-exclusive Arabic nightclub. And this is why Lagerfeld and his team are so great. There is truly not a creative detail related to the presentation of Chanel that isn’t focused upon and controlled to create near perfection.
