Pratt Institute held its annual design show opening nigh reception last night, “a juried exhibition of exceptional design work by more than 300 graduating students.” The newbies whether up and coming or still in school have always held a special place in Snobette world. More than just a chance to say you spotted a big talent before s/he made it big, young designers carry promise and hope for the future. Plus, whether its to the detriment or not for the younglings, tucked away as they are in a world that’s less bottom-line oriented, their designs are fresh and different not to mention full of life and sincerity. Case in point the Jeff Wan bag featured above featuring a laser cut body detailed with yellow fringe–amazing!
The work featured here is focused on designers who showed as fashion (a first for the event) or accessories. There were many more categories included at the show, which will run through May 15th at the Manhattan Center. See more below, designers are named in the caption. All images by TheSnobette.
