Former NFL player and founder of The Sean James Student Athletes Foundation reached out to American Ballet Theater ballerina Misty Copeland to create a short titled “Artist Meets Athlete,” intended to portray the concepts of “artist, intellect and athlete,” a notion says James, that is a driving force behind his foundation, which helps provides academic scholarships and raises awareness on the impact on bullying. Commenting on the video, James says:
“[Misty Copland]offered her help to raise awareness for the foundation, and our brainchild was to create a video that showcased the athleticism of her art and the art of my athleticism followed by a sit down conversation between us that would link the two while also highlighting the importance of intellect and pure ambition in both fields. With the help of director and photographer Richard Corman, our vision became a reality and the first artist meets athlete video was created.”
