Brooklyn-based designer Tiffany Rhodes showed her label, Butch Diva, last night at Brooklyn Museum, with a runway presentation that showed the label at its exuberant best. Invited to show as part of the night’s theme of celebrating Caribbean culture, her presentation was preceded by a dance performance honoring dancehall queen Patra and was followed by menswear designer Toure. Rhodes’ designs reflected her own love of body-centric colorful designs, all of which were further elevated with add-on detailing and head dresses reflective of the dress and costumes traditionally worn during Caribbean carnival.
