Had a debate a few nights ago with my old, good friend and her sister and awesome daughter about Pharrell and his role on reality show, “The Voice.” Old good friend thinks “Happy” and his place on the reality show have sealed his deal with corniness. Her aunt and daughter think Pharrell is a great talent and the worldwide popularity of “Happy” and his success as a mentor on the TV show are supporting evidence. Me, that being editor Lois Sakany, I’m with my friend and thinking that he has fallen into cornball clutches or rather, let’s make that money! Which, more power to the man. He does corny justice and I’d rather see him rich than many. As for “It Girl,” the tune is smooth and catchy and the graphics (as designed by the talented Takashi Murakami) are purely great, more creative than corny even.
