Celine designer Phoebe Philo is like an elite athlete in that she makes whatever she endeavors to do appear to be a lot easier than it actually is. While others huff and puff, with a flick of a wrist Philo offers her latest take on minimalism, a movement of which she is the current ruling king and queen. For added flair for Resort 2015, there is the addition of maxi-length striped knit dresses cut with a roomy fit, conveying as always a sense of ease and relaxed assuredness, like, “Oh, this old thing?” The collection includes a goatskin fur coat; the color block technique is still present but it’s morphed from one that contrasts solid blocks of color to one that features a mix of piebald patterns to create an item that is striking yet still quietly elegant.
