Tina Knowles last married actor Richard Lawson in an event that took place on a yacht off the coast of Los Angeles on April 12th. A few pictures of the wedding slipped out shortly after, but even more were revealed today by People magazine, along with details on the guest list and highlights of the event. While not quite the level of extravaganza, the wedding’s all-white dress code was very much in step with that of Solange‘s famously stylish wedding from November of last year. [Update: More images have been added from Beyonce’s Tumblr, as shot by Cliff Watts.] In addition to her two daughters, Beyonce and Solange, attendees included Kelly Rowland and the groom’s daugther, Bianca Lawson. Beyonce’s daughter, Blue Ivy, was the flower girl and Solange’s son, Julez, was the ring bearer. According to People, Knowles was thrilled with how it all turned out:
“To walk down the aisle and see all my friends and family and to see my handsome man standin’ there, and to know that at 61 you can still find love and have a magical day like that, it was really beautiful. It was important to me to have a wedding and walk in white, because sometimes we feel that at a certain age you should act a certain way. You can find love at any age. You just have to go for it.”
Knowles has known Laswon for close to 30 years and they reconnected and began dating about a year and a half ago. Within four months, she said she knew “this is somebody that I could really spend the rest of my life with.” Her dress was designed by Romona Keveza and she walked down the aisle to India.Arie’s “Ready for Love.” More images below.
