FKA Twigs has landed the cover for Complex magazine’s July-August issue, which, for the online version is packed full of artsy, GIF imagery. Not a lot of news is revealed about Twigs, who, according to the interviewer, was a reluctant subject, no doubt a response to the explosion in her popularity that has lead to increase press demands combined with the recent accidental reveal that she is engaged to major teen heart throb, Robert Patterson, whose fans apparently responded in a very mixed way to the news.
Having seen her perform at a recent concert, titled “Congreta,” in Brooklyn during the Red Bull Music Adacemy festival, it was interesting to discover that Alexander McQueen designed her costumes, as well, she was generous in crediting the importance of the dancers who helped teach her the various underground dance styles featured in the show. According to the article,
“Congregata features her friends—dancers who were [in the video for] “Glass & Patron” (Benjamin Milan, Alex Mugler, Javier Ninja, Jamel Prodigy, and Kaner Flex), New York vogue “legends” (Leiomy Mizrahi and Dashaun “Evisu” Wesley), and additional contemporary dancers (Ross Sands, Denzel, and Bats).”
