CL continues her U.S. push with the release of “Lifted,” produced by YG producer Teddy and co-written by Teddy, CL and Asher Roth. Shot by Dave Myers, the song and video is very much a shout out to New York and iconic hip-hop with a song that pays tribute to Wu Tang Clan’s single “Method Man,” a shout out enhanced with an adorable Meth cameo in the video. Fashion has always been a big part of CL’s appeal and we spy CL wearing looks from her friend Jeremy Scott’s label Moschino.
“Lifted” is the first single from her upcoming EP, and is a big departure from her squeaky clean days as a member of Korean K-Pop group 2NE1. Scroll through the comments for this video on YouTube and you will discover CL is receiving quite a bit of push back from her dedicated fan base, who are criticizing the singer for allowing herself to be shown smoking and drinking in the video, as well as how she’s dressed and dancing.
