On the day of her birth, September 4th, Beyoncé has released the visual for “Part 2: Denial” from her much discussed and praised Lemonade album. The video includes the Warsan Shire-derived poem (see Shire recite it below) “For women who are ‘difficult’ to love” and the song “Hold Up.”
Directed by Jonas Akerlund and styled by B. Akerlund, a husband and wife team, the videos opens with Beyoncé floating through a water immersed room, wearing a Norma Kamali swimsuit and Natalia Fedner mesh top. For the song “Hold Up,” she wears a now famous yellow Roberto Cavalli dress and Saint Laurent platform shoes.
