After making a lot of people mad for complaining in a concert about Jay Z not visiting his home after his wife, Kim Kardashian, was robbed in Paris, and also kvetching that their daughters, North and Blue haven’t had any play dates, Kanye West drew everyone back into his court with a video he published on Twitter, honoring his wife’s 36th birthday.
Composed of clips of Kardashian home movies played against the backdrop of the piano from West’s single “Only One,” the video mostly feature’s Kardashian’s much-loved father, Robert Kardashian, who passed away in 2003. Halfway through the five minute 22-second long video, there is a touching clip in which the family patriarch advises, “Kimberly, follow your honest beliefs and stay strong.” The end closes with him telling the person operating the camera, “I love you,” followed by a screen that reads the same.
Following the video, both Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian Tweeted in praise of it, both highlighting the positive impact of hearing their father’s voice.
