One of Adidas‘s big efforts this year has been its design partnerships with its global, top-tier boutique retailers, referred to as Consortium accounts. Significantly, the German company kicked off the Adidas Consortium series in January 2016 with a Tubular Doom sneaker made in collaborations with designer Ronnie Fieg and his chain, Kith.
Adidas and Kith returned to to the drawing board for Fieg’s Aspen collection, which launched last week, along with the opening of a new Kith location in the mountain city of the same name. Adidas and Kith footwear offerings include an UltraBoost Mid sneaker and a Response Trail Boost sneaker/hiking shoe.
According to press on the Ultra Boost, the distinct, multi-colored Primeknit upper “is made from a wool-blend fabric for the winter, and is executed in a much denser knit than normal to retain warmth.” In an Iinstagram post, Fieg noted, “It’s my favorite shoe of 2016.”
The Adidas Originals x Kith Ultra Boost Mid ($210) and Response Trail Boost ($160) will release this Friday, December 23rd, at all Kith shops. The shoes also will be available to purchase online on December 23rd at midnight 12:00 AM EST on KithNYC.com.
