Christian Dior today released its campaign images for spring 2017, the first under the direction of the houses first female creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, whose kick-off runway presentation took place during spring presentations in Paris earlier this year.
Epitomizing why diversity matters, Chiuri tapped a woman, Brigette Lacombe, to photograph the collection. “I really wanted to have a woman photographer. I’m really interested in different interpretations of femininity, and [Lacombe] really captures the expression of different attitudes,” Chiuri told WWD.
The campaign features twin models Ruth and May Bell
slated to break in an array of February magazines, starting with U.K. titles in early January.
What’s more, Chiuri is emerging as the ringleader of a battalion of female talents, including the team assembled for her first advertising campaign, in which photographer Brigitte Lacombe captures the complicity and complexity of U.K. twin models Ruth and May Bell, who are known for being their ying and yang expressions of femininity.
