Nardwuar the Human Serviette dipped into the vault today, and published two-throw back interviews with Solange Knowles and Destiny’s Child. Both interviews took place backstage before a concert event in 2002 in Tacoma, Washington.
Poor Solange, a mere 16 years of age, she managed to retain her poise despite Nardwuar’s off-kilter line of questions that veered from performing in malls to Eminem’s character in 8 Mile winning a rap battle. On her biography, Knowles explained, “I grew up in Houston, Texas, and started dancing at two and a half.”
In the case of Destiny’s Child, the group was headed to perform and while Nardwuar was able to engage Kelly Rowland, when Beyoncé appeared on the scene she kept it moving toward the stage and with a single smile and a glance whisked Rowland and Michelle Williams away.
