One of Adidas’s savviest ideas this year has been its Adidas Consortium collaborations with top tier retail and creative partners worldwide that has been the launchpad for some of the year’s most widely admired shoes.
Today the company announced the roll out of an Adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange Program, which will be marked by monthly, limited-edition launches made in collaboration with synergistic pairings of the brand’s best-in-class boutique accounts globally.
Kicking off during men’s fashion week in Paris in January, retailers will work together to create “a juxtaposition of influences and ideas” in a shoe. Similar to the current Adidas Consortium items, the collaborative products will be sold by all the members of the program.
“It’s all about that exchange of cultural currency. To have accounts from two countries come together and work on a project through the lens of Adidas’ history, heritage and innovation,” explained Adidas Consortium’s senior product manager, Jimmy Manley.
Included members of the Exchange Program known thus far are Alife, A Man Maniere, Bodega, Colette, END, Foot Patrol, Fruitition, Invincible, Juice, Kith, Naked, Overkill, Packer, SlamJam, Sneakerboy, Sneakersnstuff, Social Status, Solebox, UNDFTD, United Arrows & Sons, Starch and Wish.
