Inspired by the portraiture of Frida Kahlo, the “Teya” editorial introduces model Teya Medina Knapp. Born in the Bronx, Knapp started modeling at age 15 and took her affinity for fashion to create Project Hue, a model mentoring organization.
Photographed and styled by Moses, the editorial aims to convey beauty and simplicity with a New York edge. “I really wanted to create clean and classical beauty driven images. I was just inspired by images of Frida Kahlo and I think since I’m naturally more drawn to things that are more graphic and harder in some ways, I thought it would be interesting to take on this idea of elegance in series of images,” said Moses.
Featuring a dope assortment of New York based design talent like Zana Bayne, Bobby Day, Jennifer Fisher and Theophilo, “Taya” reflects a fashion story of strength and simplicity.
