Thankfully, it appears M.I.A isn’t quite done making music just yet. Earlier today (January 2), she shared a preview for a new video for a single titled “POWA,” a single she first previewed on Periscope in January 2017. Commenting on the clip on Instagram, she wrote, “POWA some people love it sooooo much they”ll do anything for it.”
In the video, M.I.A. wears a veil and is lying on a bed of flowers in the back of a pick up truck. There have been some disgruntled M.I.A. fans complaining that Beyoncé stole the look of her pregnancy shoot from M.I.A., which seems to be a pretty silly accusation given that Bey’s series of photographs dropped before M.I.A. revealed her video clip.
M.IA. first previewed the single on her Periscope account in January 2017. It will be her first music since she dropped her album AIM in September 2016.
Look for the full video to be released on February 6th.
