Get ready for another Nike and Off White and collaboration. This time it’s a Blazer Mid that should see a wider launch that the first silhouette, a black Air Force 1 sneaker, that appeared during an Off White event at Art Basel in Miami and was only made available to friends and family.
In a recent talk at Columbia University, Abloh showed the Air Force 1 shoe in a slide show, and said, “I have a Nike shoe that’s dropping,” adding that it was the Blazer Mid not the Air Force 1 that would see a wider launch. Speaking on the collaboration, Abloh said, “Nike has been a great, creative support system to let me sort of tinker with their product.”
Abloh passed around the Blazer for attendees to look at and also explained some of its construction, explaining that the swoosh had been removed and added back on. “The tongue is replaced, put back,” said Abloh, explaining, “What I’m attempting with streetwear is to nudge it forward.” Abloh added that the idea of putting Off White’s trademark horizontal stripes on the shoe is “exactly won’t I won’t do.”
