Vashtie Celebrates Her B-Day With A Restock Of Her ‘Bootleg’ Concert T-Shirt

In November 2016, multi-title entrepreneur Vashtie Kola dropped a vintage-inspired concert t-shirt on her store that sold out upon arrival. To celebrate her birthday (April 23, 2017) she restocked the popular t-shirt and shared a heartfelt message on social media of her triumph and perseverance through adversity.

“If I can go from a kid born without money or fame (nothing wrong with that), surviving domestic abuse, etc and do what I do now, you can do it to! Trust,” she wrote in part on the post.

Today is my birthday. I’m the happiest, healthiest and most successful I’ve ever been, yet continuing to strive for better and beyond. I am thankful for the life and experiences I’ve had (good and “bad” because it’s all good), but especially grateful for the loved ones in my world. I include every one of my 345,000 “followers” in that statement….because I appreciate all of your love and support. Most of you have been following me since 2007 and have seen this ashy poor kid born to Trinidadian working class parents evolve (still ashy). Although I haven’t met the majority of you, your like-mindedness (shared through messages and what not) has always made you seem like an unmet long-lost friend rather than a “fan”. Just wanted to say, I love you. Truly. And…if I can go from a kid born without money or fame (nothing wrong with that), surviving domestic abuse, etc and do what I do now, you can do it to! Trust.
