Atlanta-born and New York-based rapper and singer Lil Yachty has released a single and video for “Bring It Back,” the first single from his upcoming, debut album, titled Teenage Emotions, releasing May 26th.
The song is a lament over lost love, which plays out against the backdrop of an ’80s-era prom. Yachty and his friends are in attendance, dressed to the nines in vintage tuxes with Yatchy at times shown on stage playing the part of all four musicians in the house band.
The Millicent Hailes-directed video closes out with Yachty taking home his girl (played by Chasity Chanese) in a vintage DeLorean. With everyone dressed in pastels (with styling handled by Aleali May), the video makes the most of Yachty’s love of color and out there visuals.
Yachty just announced plans for a tour, which kicks off on August 8, 2017, in Dallas and finishes out in Atlanta on October 20th.
In addition to new music, a lot of chatter and memes were generated by Yachty’s appearance last week on Complex’s “Everyday Struggle” series, on which he took on co-host Joe Budden, who has been a critic of his music.
