Since the inception of their first collaboration in 2014, NikeLab and Pigalle‘s capsules were anchored on designer Stephane Ashpool’s affinity for basketball. The latest effort reveals a collection with a broader, unisex appeal with pieces sized and made with a female customer in mind.
Rooted in retro sport heritage silhouettes with shades mauve, blue and white, Ashpool describes the collection as sport with a Paris flair. “It’s an evolution of ’90s basketball allure from the U.S., but in an elegant, Parisian way,” says Ashpool. “When you put all the stuff together, it’s exactly the way I want it to be. You have this sporty value, but at the same time if you wear it well, you can go out at night.”
The collection also includes two colorways of the Nike Air Shake Ndestrukt and a very cozy Benassi Duo Ultra Slide.
The Nikelab and Pigalle goes live on June 24, 2017 at Pigalle’s Paris store at 17 rue Duperré and online at pigallebasketball.com, as well as better boutiques globally like nakedcph.com.
