Rihanna was spotted in paparazzi images yesterday (June 27, 2016), tonguing down an attractive new beau in a pool (with gold wine flutes by their side no less), at a posh location in Ibizia. With no hint she was even dating, the story started with everyone first applauding, but quickly devolved into a manhunt to figure out who the swarthy mysterious man was.
It’s since been revealed that her new beau is 29-year-old Hassan Jameel, who is said to be worth $1.5 billion. Jameel is the deputy president and vice chairman of Abdul Latif, a family owned-business that owns the rights to sell Toyota cars in the Middle East.
Between the make out shots and the uncovering of Jameel’s name, multiple people pointed out on Twitter that Jameel had been spotted looking affectionate with super model Naomi Campbell at the British Summertime Festival just under a year ago, specifically July 10, 2016.
Keeping an eye on the timeline, make note Campbell had attended Rihanna’s concert at Wembley Stadium in West London just two weeks prior and was said to be in attendance at the event with Jameel. After the event, Campbell was spotting have dinner with La Perla designer Pedro Lourenzo. (Naomi does not want for male attention!)
Members of the Navy pushed back on claims Campbell was ever serious with Jameel by pointing out that after Rihanna’s concert, she was not long after spotted on a yacht in Ibiza where she was hanging out with an older white guy, who was definitely not Jameel.
Now probably is a good time to note that in March of this year Campbell appeared on “Watch What Happens Live” where she was asked by host Andy Cohen why she had unfollowed Rihanna on Instagram. Campbell told Cohen everything was fine though her demeanor and tone implied they were no longer friends. It seems the two were still not speaking when they expertly (and one could also say tragically) ghosted each other on the Met Gala red carpet in May.
Now that everything is out in the open, sources are saying Rihanna has been dating Jameel for quite some time.
In the end, we’re happy for Rihanna, we really are, though we just want her and Campbell to be friends again. A love interest should never come between two friends, especially two women as fabulous as Rihanna and Campbell.
