Adidas by Stella McCartney have revealed looks from their fall collection in a lookbook that features fitness-minded model Karlie Kloss, who was announced as a face of the brand in July 2016.
Offerings include a new UltraBoost sneaker, plus a backpack making use of Parley yarn, composed of recycled ocean plastic debris. With both Adidas and McCartney focused on sustainability, the line features additional apparel items made using recycled polyester fabrics.
Color-wise, the collection doesn’t hold back, offering a blown up houndstooth check print, as well as an array of boldly-colored, sorbet-colored garments. As well, there are plenty of more conservatively-colored pieces that still manage to make a statement with unexpected details and contrast stitching statements.
While designer collaborations have become common, let’s us take a moment to point out that Adidas and McCartney’s decision to work together was way ahead of the curve and in many ways laid down the blueprint for brand collaboration. Adidas by Stella McCartney began with a fall 2005 collection that debuted in a limited number of U.S. and Japanese doors and is now sold globally and is marked by direction-setting apparel and footwear designed for a wide range of activities.
