While there are many celebs who claim Cardi B aka Belcalis Almanzar as a fave, throughout her career, the Bronx rapper has often pointed to fellow New Yorker Lady Gaga as an influence and inspiration.
Recently, the 24-year-old shouted out Gaga’s fashion acumen and a tri-color Versace jumpsuit she wore last week was also spotted on Gaga at the time of her Superbowl performance in January 2017.
Even earlier, Cardi last year showed a clip of herself performing Lady Gaga’s single “Bad Romance” at a high school talent show last year, and lucky for everyone, now the entire video of the performance has emerged.
Titled “[Renaissance High School for Musical Theater] Talent Show ’10: Belcalis ft. Dancers,” Cardi enters the stage at 1:50 in a red jumpsuit with fishnets peaking through cut outs, and while she’s now curvier, even then her charismatic personality pops out. And based on how wildly she was cheered, having a dedicated fan base is nothing new to her.
