Over the past few years, Thrasher magazine went from being a statement limited to skateboarders to one made by anyone looking to score cool points to the point even Vogue took notice and H&M (of course) followed with its own version (see below).
While the fashionistas have moved onto the next big thing, the 35-year old Thrasher has stayed the course, recently delighting its hardcore fans with news of a collaboration with Vans, another rock steady skateboard brand.
The capsule will include two versions each of the Sk8-Hi Pro and Slip-On Pro, along with the new UltraRange Pro plus t-shirts, a hoodie, an engineer jacket, back and cap. Items are co-branded with both brands’ logos along with Thrashers’ trademark flames and Vans’ checkerboard. One of the graphics references Vans team rider John Cardiel through a graphic of his 1992 Thrasher skater of the year cover on which he’s shown jumping through a flame ring wearing a Thrasher t-shirt.
The Thrasher and Vans capsule will release July 29, 2017 at select vans.com plus top-tier Vans retail accounts.
