First announced in March 2017, Japanese retailer Uniqlo and J.W. Anderson have followed up with a full reveal of all the offerings included in their collaborative collection.
Made up of men’s and women’s offerings and launched under the chain’s more exclusive LifeWear division (better material/carried in fewer stores), offerings that stand out include tartan puffer jackets and totes, reversible raincoats and denim trousers.
While offerings reference some of the artful twist and turn details J.W. Anderson is known and loved for, the collection is largely focused on celebrating Jonathan Anderson’s Northern Ireland upbringing. As such, think about it as the collection Anderson would have created had he never left home to become an internationally respected designer, leading two labels (he also heads up Loewe).
“The point of doing this collaboration was that I believe in democracy in fashion,” said Anderson in a press statement. “What I hope will be achieved is that any age demographic can pick up and find something within the collection to relate to. Doing something with Uniqlo means you come up with a wardrobe which is universal and quirky.”
Look for the women’s items featured below to launch at U.K. Uniqlo stores on September 19, 2017, followed by other markets.
