It all started–appropriately enough–on February 14th–when J.Crew showed a Valentine’s Day pink faux fur coat in its fall 2016 presentation. Priced at $395, the coat quickly sold out when it hit retail.
Something must have been in the air because a week and a half later in Milan, Gucci showed a pink fox fur coat on its fall 2016 runway. The $19,000 coat reappeared in October when was spotted on Beyoncé as part of a Barbie-themed Halloween costume. Though Perhaps because the cost is the equivalent of a down payment for a suburban McMansion, it’s still available to purchase.
H&M grabbed the baton for fall 2017 with its own version of a pink faux fur. Priced at $129, it sold out within days on the chain’s U.K. and U.S. online store. As to whether it will be restocked, an online sales rep we chatted with yesterday (August 5, 2017) wrote, “I would not expect it to replenish, no. It’s from our trend concept which tends to be really limited quantities. That being said, I would not be at all surprised to see similar styles come around as we get further into the fall.”
You never know though, sometimes returns do pop up (U.S. link here) plus there may be some availability in H&M’s stores. And if all else fails, there are a few being sold on ebay.com.
