Reality show and beauty mogul Kim Kardashian West takes inspiration from First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onasis in an editorial for Interview magazine, which also includes her daughter, North West.
Kardashian was photographed for the September 2017 issue by Steve Klein and interviewed by Janet Mock, who kicked off the interview by quizzing her the impact of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”
On what her day is like when the family isn’t filming, Kardashian said, “I wake up early, like six in the morning. I try to work out before the kids get up, and then I have breakfast with them and my husband. I try to make sure we have set meals at home, to keep everything as normal as possible.”
Mock pointed out that Kardashian had pushed American beauty standards to make them “a bit browner, a bit bronzer, a bit curvier,” and asked her if she had consciousness about raising a bi-racial child. “Kanye always has his family around and people who look like my daughter, that’s important to me,” said Kardashian. “She’s obsessed with her curly hair, and if she finds someone who has the same hair, she runs to them and is like, ‘You have curly hair like me?’ And we get to talk about it.”
When it comes to working through controversial topics, Kardashian said first she consults with her husband, Kanye West, and also her good friend, Tracy Nguyen Romulus, about whom she said, “She used to be Kanye’s publicist, and I met her 12 years ago. Now we have kids who are best friends. She’s just a really smart girl, so I always get her opinion on everything.”
Cutely enough, the four-year-old West was asked several questions each by Cindy Crawford daughter Kaia Gerber, “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown, Britney Spear’s sons, Sean and Jayden Federline and her cousin Penelope Disick.
West mentioned “Amazing” as her favorite song by her father, said Jasmine is her favorite princess and added that rainbow is her favorite color.
