YSL Beauté has announced actress/model Zoë Kravitz as its newest makeup ambassador with a global campaign to debut later this summer.
Kravitz is the label’s first ambassador appointment since Tom Pecheux was named global beauty director in January, according to The Business of Fashion, which notes that the division has seen a growth of 29 percent in the past year.
In a press statement, Kravitz, who as of now is sporting a buzz cut, wrote, “YSL Beauté has always been one of my favorite brands. Their ability to combine the chicest of styles with a raw edge has always been to me one of the best ways to express yourself through fashion and beauty. Nothing is forced, nothing is fake but everything is bold, strong and unafraid.”
“We as a brand went back to the DNA of the young Yves Saint Laurent brand that was created in the ’60s, with a brand that resonates very much with the culture of its time,” said Stephan Bezy, international general manager for YSL Beauté.
The label no doubt noticed when a simple YSL makeup tuturial provided by Kravitz on Instagram in March 2017 went viral, showing the gorgeous 28-year old to be a natural in front of the camera.
