New York rapper Princess Nokia aka Destiny Frasqueri has stepped up with a GoFundMe page to help raise money for the crisis in Puerto Rico brought about by Hurricane Maria. The link for her page can be found here.
Nokia has deep roots in Puerto Rico, including a grandfather who she hasn’t been able to make contact with since the storm hit.

In a statement on her YouTube page, Nokia wrote, “I am creating this GoFundMe, to directly provide imminent care and support to the people of Puerto Rico as a gesture of solidarity, and alliance with my mother country. This go fund me will serve as a personal 100 percent non profit organization that will serve to assist the island and people of Puerto Rico in its dire time of need.”
As part of the effort, Nokia has plans to travel to the album to assist with the recovery.
