Nike definitely is going all out to make a mark during New York Fashion Week. First it made a big splash with its series of Virgil Abloh “The Ten” workshops and yesterday (September 10, 2017) Nike surfaced with a statement making Air Jordan collaboration, shown on Public School New York‘s spring 2018 runway.
The item that popped out the most was without doubt a knee-high, black boot, created using the Jordan 15 shoe as a foundation. Public School designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are not new to working with Jordan and have collaborated multiple times with the storied brand on its Retro 12 model.
Stylist Aleali May, who participated in one of Nike’s “The Ten” workshops, was in attendance at the show and was spotted in a pair of the boots.
Following the presentation, Public School held a pop-up store in Chinatown, where collaborative items were available to purchase. Items from the collaboration are now available at publicschoolnyc.com and will also be carried at top-tier Nike department store and boutique accounts.
There is no sign of the Jordan boot though and there is not word as of yet if the shoe will make it to retail.
