Puma today (September 18, 2017) announced singer and actress Selena Gomez as its newest brand ambassador, a roster that already includes Gomez’s beau, The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye, as well as Kylie Jenner.
According to press from Puma, Gomez will work with the brand to design product and create marketing campaigns, and will first appear in an ad for the Phenom, an upcoming women’s footwear drop.
In an interview with Vogue, Gomez revealed that she’s already dipped into her boyfriend’s closet for Puma hoodies and added that she currently has a rotation of about 20 pairs of sneakers.
When asked about her first sneaker memory, Gomez provided a reminder of her first big acting jobs when she recalled her shoes from the TV series “Barney & Friends. “I’ve been working since I was seven, so the earliest memories of me are when I’m on “Barney [& Friends],” which is so funny,” said Gomez. “I talked about this the other night, but that style is coming back. I was literally seven, but the way those shoes with the socks that fold over, it’s so kind of now.”
