Adidas Originals and Pharrell Williams have had a lot of fun creating NMD HU shoes together and today it appears they upped the fun quotient considerably with a shoe made in collaboration with Paris luxury label Chanel.
Featuring a white midsole and rugged outsole, the all black Primeknit upper includes the word “Pharrell” printed on the left shoe and “Channel” on the right shoe. According to @yeezymafia, the shoe will hit retail though it will be expensive.
In addition to the shoe shown above, there’s another model circulating around that has “Chanel” on one foot and the double-C logo on the right foot, a model that @yeezymafia says is an early prototype that isn’t being produced.
If the collaboration comes to fruition, it’s a pretty noteworthy one, not only because it’s with one of the world’s most famous luxury labels, but also because Chanel hardly ever collaborates with any brand. Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, yes, but Chanel by and large keeps to itself.
If Chanel is opening up to working with outsiders, it’s not doubt a product of Williams and Lagerfeld’s enduring relationship. Williams has attended Chanel shows, appeared in films, walked a runway and this year was the first man to be tapped for a Chanel bag ad campaign. They have history!
