Reebok has collaborated with Atlanta-based boutique Epitome on a collaborative Insta Pump Fury silhouette. Titled “Evolution of the Women,” the attractive sneaker features a bright white upper, a silver outsole and a pink sole, a reference to rose quartz, a crystal known to carry feminine energy, healing and nourishment.
Epitome co-owner Martina McFly, who led the design effort, told us through email about her goals for the shoe. “I was inspired by the now,” wrote McFly. “I feel that we are in an age of transparency as it relates the future and how it relates to the body especially the human body. We’re known for using symbolism at Epitome so I became infatuated by the fact that Leonardo Da Vinci’s ‘Vitruvian Man’ was just that of a man. I wanted to flip that as a nod to women and the fact that humanity starts with them.”
Tapping into Epitome’s network of cool females, the lookbook features musician Quin, models Amina Blue, Tashi Rodriguez, Amber and model/artist Koala.
The cool campaign also includes a video, highlighting skateboarder Briana Dotson and designers Coco & Breezy. The short opens with a performance by New York-based Iconic Cheer Elite cheerleaders.
Priced at $205, Epitome’s Insta Pump Furty kicks will be available at a one day New York pop-up on October 12, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 at 245 West 14th Street. It will go live on epitomeatl.com on October 14th.
