Adidas Soccer And Kith Roll Out Collection For Miami, Los Angeles And New York Club Teams

Adidas Soccer and Kith have revealed a “Season 2” collection of fall apparel and footwear kits for the retailer’s New York Cobras, Miami Flamingos and newly-added Los Angeles Rays soccer clubs, all Kith-sponsored teams.

Team jerseys, apparel and two Adidas slip-on silhouettes (Nemeziz UltraBOOST 17+ and Nemeziz 17.1 TR) are rooted in color stories inspired by the teams’ official colors: olive for Los Angeles, pink for Miami and black for New York.

Further reflecting local flavor, each team represents its city through additional branding and activities.

In the case of the Los Angeles Rays, the team is sponsored by Samsung and shoppers can touch and feel the product at a Kith Fred Segal pop-up at 8500 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Kith will partner with EA sports in Los Angeles to set up a single elimination tournament of FIFA ’18 to win a special prize.

The Miami Flamingos jerseys include branding from Chase, which Kith has banked with since its inception. As part of Chase’s sponsorship of the Flamingos, both colors of the Chase-branded jerseys will release on Thursday November 2, 2017, in Kith Miami, exclusively for Chase cardholders. All proceeds from these sales will support Hurricane Irma relief.

The New York Cobras are sponsored by Coca-Cola, a call back to a collaboration from earlier in the year, inspired by summer vacations on Long Island’s famous Hampton beaches. Similar to Los Angeles, there will be an EA Sports Fifa ’18 tournament. Contestants will be selected randomly via raffle which they can sign up for here.

The entire collection will launch on November 3, 2017 at at Kith shops in New York, Brooklyn and Miami, the Kith Fred Segal Pop-Up at 8500 Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles and at 11:00 AM EST on kith.com.

Puma and New York-based fashion brand LaQuan Smith Puma and New York-based fashion brand LaQuan Smith are back with their second collaboration, this time inspired by the glitz and grit of the boxing ring. 

The campaign stars Ming Lee Simmons, dressed in satin-finished boxing shorts, cropped jackets, and tear-away pants with luxe details.

The capsule also includes two Speedcat silhouettes, including the Speedcat Mid, a high-ankle boxing sneaker. 

Priced between $80-$100, the Puma x LaQuan Smith collection launches on March 15 on puma.com, the Puma NYC and Las Vegas flagship stores, and select retailers including Foot Locker and Shoe Palace.

Taking inspiration from a feminine Y2K aesthetic, the collection embodies designers Charlotte Knowles and Alexandre Arsenault’s ability to balance sexy and cool. 

In an interview with Vogue, the pair shared that they are currently working on a new design director role in Europe and have several other projects in the pipeline, including another denim project, a collaboration with a jewelry brand, and a menswear capsule for an e-commerce site.

Commenting on the lookbook styling, they shared, "Obviously in the lookbooks it's styled in a quite extreme way, but if you break it down into individual pieces, we've been thinking about merchandising and the customer more than ever before," said Arsenault. "We've seen the team in the studio wearing the pieces differently too, and we've taken that into account. It's a nice challenge to say: 'Okay, we want to make a sweatshirt, but it still has this silhouette or wash or rib detail that makes it feel really Knwls."
