Rihanna‘s Fenty Beauty beauty line is just two months old, and it’s already earned a spot on Time magazine’s list of 25 best inventions in 2017, a placement it garnered thanks to its inclusive range of foundation shades with an ad campaign to match.
“I never could have anticipated the emotional connection that women are having with the products and the brand as a whole,” Rihanna told Time about the response to the product launch. “Some are finding their shade of foundation for the first time, getting emotional at the counter. That’s something I will never get over.”
And while Rihanna ranks Gloss Bomb lip gloss as her current favorite Fenty Beauty item, she confessed, “some of my favorite products aren’t even out yet.”
Nike also landed on the list for its performance hijab (more info on that here) and rival German sports brand Adidas also earned a spot, thanks to its Futurecraft 4D sneaker featuring a midsole that can be customized through 3-D printing.
Time also included the iPhone X on the list, a device described as a “dream come true” though it noted that some of the phone’s features were offered first by Samsung and LG.
