Stockholm-based Cords & Co is a new label anchored on a love of corduroy as a denim alternative. The company was founded by Swedish business partners Mikael Söderlindh and Viktor Tell, formerly of Happy Socks, a company they sold for $81.2 million in January 2017.
The label recently collaborated with Alpha Industries, applying its love of corduroy to an MA-1 and N-3B parka.
“We always had the idea of making a jacket out of corduroy but never found the right materials or partner brand to do it with,” explained Alpha Industries p.r. rep Ben Birkl. “When we met the team from The Cords & Co back in 2016, we knew that we had found the perfect match. Now, when I have the jackets in front of me, I couldn’t be any happier with how it’s all turned out.”
Priced at $315 for the MA-1 and $470 for the parka, the unisex-sized jackets are now available for purchase at the thecords.com and also at The Cord stores and select retail locations globally.
